Haiti - Environment : Training of Haitian trainers in Martinique

In the framework of the Support Project to the Regional Integration Climate Caribbean (PAIRC-C), about fifteen participants from Haiti, Saint Lucia, Dominica and Martinique followed in Martinique a training of trainers with experts of the United Nations Office on Disaster Risk Reduction.

This project is funded by the French Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs for 200,000 Euros, in coordination with the French Embassies in Haiti and Saint Lucia and implemented by UNITE Caribbean.

Coming from Haiti, Fania Joseph and Roodlin Maccinot from AGERCA, the Haitian Private Sector Association and the Civil Society working in Risk and Disaster Management as well as Holguens Alabre of the NGO Entrepreneurs du Monde, were able to acquire in-depth knowledge of mapping and assessment of the risks of climate disasters on companies and be able to duplicate this training with companies and business platforms in order to strengthen their capacities and enable them to be among others : more resilient to hydro-meteorological risks amplified by climate change and geological risks.
