On Friday, September 4th, 2026, at the Delmas Municipal Palace, Pythagore Dumas, Minister of Youth, Sports, and Civic Action (MJSAC), along with representatives from several public institutions, including the Ministry of National Education and Vocational Training, the Ministry of Public Health and Population, the Ministry of Women's Affairs and Women's Rights, the Institute of Social Welfare and Research, the Haitian National Police, the National School Feeding Program, and the Dignité School Transportation Company, among others, actively participated in the "Back to School" mega summer camp, organized from August 31 to September 4th, 2026, under the patronage of the Prime Minister's Office.

Deployed in the municipalities of Delmas, Port-au-Prince, Pétion-Ville, and Kenscoff, this socio-educational initiative brought together more than 2,000 young people aged 7 to 17 from municipalities in the metropolitan area and from several sites hosting displaced families. They participated in the "Back to School" program, under the theme "Every child in school is the Government's priority."

The program took place in the municipalities of Port-au-Prince, Delmas, Pétion-ville, and Kenscoff, in a context where many families face significant challenges. Through sports, the children were introduced to essential values ​​such as discipline, respect, fair play, solidarity, and social cohesion.

In his message to the children, Dumas emphasized the importance of continuing the efforts undertaken beyond the camp, while urging parents to strengthen the protection and support of their children, providing them with an environment based on safety, respect, and trust.

For her part, Pedrica Saint Jean, the Minister for the Status of Women, addressed the children, encouraging them to return to school with courage, discipline, and determination. She invited them to respect their teachers and classmates, while asking them not to allow violence into their lives. She also delivered a special message to the young girls, encouraging them to believe in their abilities : "Never let anyone make you believe that you are incapable."

The ceremony concluded in a festive atmosphere. The young participants presented several dance and poetry performances, and then "La bande à Pipo" took over to provide exceptional entertainment for the children. Finally, the distribution of school kits marked the end of the program, as they prepared to return to school.
