Haiti - Elections : Tear gas on a Voting Center

Sandra Honoré hopes to see voters...

After having visited two centers and several polling stations in the morning, Sandra Honoré tries to explain the low participation rate "[...] the fact that elections for local and regional authorities have not taken place since 10 years, people tend or or have tended not to focus on these elections but I believe that the CEP has done a good job of raising awareness about the relationship between communities and ASECs and CASECs and I hope that the explanation that the vast majority of voters go first to mass and then come to the voting center, this is indeed the explanation and they will effectively come to vote after the Mass [...]"

An individual launched a tear gas bomb on the voting center at Mirebalais High School, causing a panic.
