Haiti - Reconstruction : Awarding of a contract of 1,3 billion gourdes
After validation of the report of Bid Opening Committee and of Evaluation of bids by the National Government Procurement Commission, the contract for construction work of building to house the Superior Court of Auditors and Administrative Disputes (CSC/CA) was awarded to the firm Hongyan Construction Company Limited for $ 1.3 billion gourdes [1,300,803,234.95].

This contract financed by funds from the cancellation of Haiti's debt by the International Monetary Fund (IMF) was initialed by Laleau Wilson, the Minister of Economy and Finance, Dong Zhengdong, authorized representative in Haiti of the Company Hongyan Construction Company Limited and Harry Adam, Executive Director of Housing Construction and public Buildings Unit (UCLBP).

Wilson Laleau stated that "the building will house the Superior Court of Auditors and Administrative Disputes, so it's a signature that has been just made in the presence of the Ministry of Public Works, and the case is led by the UCLBP. The contract is for 1.3 billion gourdes and work is expected to last 2 years.

[...] We asked the firm for some work that Haitian businesses can be associated in the construction of this work, because the legislation that exists does not make obligation of that, and it was not reflected in the tender [...] the Minsiter Laleau said that this measure intended the transfer of knowledge and technology."
