The candidate registration process for the upcoming elections will end on September 9, 2026, according to the Provisional Electoral Council (CEP) schedule submitted to political organizations a few days ago. The document outlines the online registration process for candidates, which will run from August 20 to September 3, followed by the submission of required documents from September 3 to 9, 2026. The CEP will review the applications received between September 10 and 17 before publishing the preliminary list of registered candidates on September 17.

Jacmel : Major Meeting Between Vendors and City Hall

Meeting between the Jacmel City Hall and vendors of the Chili Market. On the recommendation of the Jacmel City Council, a major meeting was held on Thursday, August 20, 2026, in the City Hall conference room, as part of efforts to improve vendors' selling conditions and strengthen dialogue with the various stakeholders and organizations operating in the market. Several dozen vendors were present and shared their various concerns and demands regarding their daily working and selling conditions. They also expressed their willingness to collaborate with City Hall in all steps taken to bring about improvements. The Jacmel City Hall reiterated its commitment to continuing discussions with the vendors to find better selling conditions for them.
