Last Wednesday, the Department of Training of the Ministry of Tourism (MT) during a open door morning to the hotel Plaza, presented the results of different actions in the field of tourism and hospitality training in fiscal year 2012-2013 : the opening of an Institute of hotel and Tourism training (INFORHT) in the South, the application of new curriculum plans in hotel schools, the development of a continuing education program, the training of inspectors, are some of the achievements presented.

Partnerships have also been established with institutions such as Collège Montmorency (training of inspectors), the American Hotel Educational Institute (Certificate in Hospitality Supervision Online), Amadeus (the application of software of booking system) or also the "Institut de Tourisme et d'Hôtellerie du Québec" (development of a new training curriculum) to mention only a few.

In addition, the Ministry of Tourism announced other projects in collaboration with specialized institutions in hospitality and tourism training for the next fiscal term.

In this dynamic, the institution will work with FORMATUR (Sistema Nacional de Formación Profesional del Turismo) of Cuba for the training of trainers, of managers of training center in tourism.

With Hanauak University of Mexico, the Ministry of Tourism will develop a program of staff training in the management of tourist destinations.

The SENAC (Serviço Nacional de Aprendizagem Comercial) of Brazil and Montreal Hotel School will support the Ministry in building the INFORHT of Port-au-Prince, according to what was stated Mr. Daniel Denis, Director of the Training Department.

The Training was established by the Minister of Tourism, Stéphanie Balmir Villedrouin, as a key priority intervention of his

politics to reposition Haiti on the international tourist map. For the Minister, it is the guarantee of offering a better service, a sine qua non for the development of any tourist destination.

The minister Ms. Stéphanie Villedrouin, took the opportunity to deliver a plaque of honor to Chef Stéphane Durand Berrouet for his passion and dedication to the Haitian cuisine.
