Haiti - Social : Sophia Martelly brings joy to Péguy Ville
Sophia Martelly, the First Lady of the Republic, has proceeded ast Friday in Péguy Ville to a distribution of gifts to over 3,000 children. This activity, which mobilized the residents of 25 neighborhoods of the town of Petion Ville, such as : Bristou, Bobin, Charles Oscar, Bois Moquette, Girardo, Tête de l'eau, Morne Hercule, etc... has was an opportunity for Ms. Martelly to be closer of the citizens and to share with them a few moments of gaiety. All participants, including thousands of children beneficiaries, have expressed their joy to see not only the First Lady but also her children, Yani and Malaika, directly involved in the distribution.
The President of the Republic, during the same activity, distributed motorcycles and envelopes to the participants came in large numbers on the occasion and who have passed a pleasant afternoon with the presidential couple. Those citizens who are full of praise towards the Presidency argue that this is the first time in their lives they have that privilege. On the faces of children, youth and adults the emotion was very strong. They thanked the President and the First Lady of the Republic for this gesture of love and and sharing on the occasion of Christmas.
This distribution performed in Péguy Ville is part of a set of activities of the Presidency on the occasion of Christmas and the holiday season. Activities that are intended to bring the presidency a little more closer of the population, show solidarity and love to the Haitian people and bring a little cheerfulness in the home.
