In Le Moniteur of August 7, 2024, an executive decree declares certain properties in the Champ de Mars area to be of public utility, which are to house the building primarily used for the services and organs of the Court of First Instance of Port-au-Prince.

"[...] Certain properties, funds and buildings located in the Champs de Mars area are declared of public utility [...] These properties enclose the urban block bordered: 1) to the North by Capois Street; 2) to the West by Saint-Cyr Street; 3) to the East by Ducoste Street and 4) to the South by Christophe Avenue," one read in this decree.

Landowners and leaseholders in the aforementioned area, within 15 days from the date of publication of this Order, will file, for legal action, at the premises of the General Directorate of Taxes in Port-au-Prince, their title deeds and all documents justifying their right of occupation.
