Haiti - Port-au-Prince : Resumption of community services from the Barbancourt Foundation 02/06/2024 10:13:21
Since May 27, 2024, the Barbancourt Foundation has resumed its community services, particularly in the sectors of health, education, youth sports and cultural offerings that promote the well-being of residents of Port-au-Prince all year round. Let's remember that these services were initially suspended since February 11, 2024, due to the deterioration of the security situation in the Haitian capital. The health clinic, located in the immediate vicinity of the Barbancourt distillery, serves more than 1,000 people per month. Other efforts being taken up include lighted basketball and soccer facilities, designated free Wi-Fi zones and training programs. The Foundation’s Haitian Educational Leadership Program (HELP) will also strengthen its support for scholarships through the Office of Admissions and Recruitment. Learn more about the Barbancourt Foundation : The Barbancourt Foundation has been providing these services since the late 1990s with continued improvement of the infrastructure to include a health clinic, sports facilities and multi-purpose spaces for students and others. The Foundation believes these services are essential to building a sustainable and thriving community and supporting a broader ecosystem that extends beyond the distillery's approximately 600 employees and 3,000 sugarcane farmers.
