Two months after the prospecting mission carried out in the department of Grand'Anse, the Ministry of Culture and the Faculty of Sciences (FDS) of the State University of Haiti proceeded to the presentation of the exploration report of cultural sites of the Biosphere Reserve of La Hotte.

Recall that last August the Ministry of Culture in its concern to protect and promote the cultural heritage of the nation, had signed a partnership agreement with the Unit of Research in Geosciences (URGéo) of the FDS in view of the prospecting and promoting two cultural sites of Grand'Anse: Grotte Marie-Govin (locality of Boucan, Chambellan) and Sources Chaudes (locality of Ti Pari, 2nd communal section of Moron).

Engineer Dominique Boisson (Coordinator of URGeo), says that this initiative aims to help the University to meet its missions which are higher education, scientific research and service to the University. community.

In terms of recommendations, and more about the Sources Chaudes that seem to have caught their attention, URGeo experts say that a targeted project should be put in place on the site to "make the difference between the hot source of depth and its contamination by meteoric waters. Geophysical measurements and drilling may be required. It will also be necessary to carry out a flow measurement campaign as well as chemical analyzes and more temperature measurements," the report says.
