Following the death of the singer Paul Edouard Jean aka "Papi Polo" (1945-2017) of the Tropicana orchestra, the Director General Michel Lapin, on behalf of the Ministry of Culture sent a message of sympathy :

Integrating the Tropicana Orchestra of Haiti in the 70s, this eminent singer-songwriter has shown his immense talent, his musical versatility, his discipline, his rigor. Thus, he became one of the Tenors of the "Rocket of Gold" in particular, Haitian music in general.
