On Monday, the French Ambassador accredited to Haiti, Elisabeth Beton Delègue went to Jérémie for the official inauguration of Alliance Française https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-22269-haiti-news-zapping.html , which had been severely damaged during the passage of Hurricane Matthew in October 2016. The Alliance of Jérémie was completely renovated with financial support from the Quai d'Orsay (France) amounting 105,000 euros https://www.icihaiti.com/en/news-20106-icihaiti-france-promise-kept.html

The official inauguration of the new premises https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-22269-haiti-news-zapping.html took place in the presence of the Ambassador of France, the Councilor for Cooperation and Cultural Action of the Embassy, Alain Bonneau, the General Delegate of the French Alliances in Haiti, Eric Compan and the President and the Director of the Alliance, Aramy Dolce and Jean-Ricot Pierre as well as their entire team.

An open day was organized to allow students and teachers from many schools in Jérémie to discover the new spaces of the Alliance française, including its brand new library and computer room, all the pedagogical and cultural activities that are proposed again.

Accompanied by a cocktail and a tasting of regional products, this inauguration ended with a large concert by Jean-Jean Roosevelt, hosted by Dangelo Néard, animator of "Koze Kilti", the cultural program in French and creole of Radio France Internationale (RFI).

Note that on Tuesday, the Alliance Française de Jérémie hosted the annual meeting of France's network of linguistic and cultural cooperation in Haiti, including representatives of the Embassy, the French Institute in Haiti and the five French Alliances in the country : Jérémie, Cap Haïtien, Gonaïves, Jacmel and Les Cayes.
