Haiti - Education : Graduation of the first FGOC Promotion

Friday, March 24 will take place at 10:30 am at the Auditorium of the Campus Henri Christophe of the State University of Haiti in Limonade (CHC-UEH-L), the graduation ceremony of the First Promotion of the Training in Management of Cultural Organizations (FGOC). 21 students will receive their certificate during this ceremony.

The "Pwogram Ewopeyen pou Kore Kilti" (European Program for Culture), 90% financed by the European Union for 30 months from 2015 to 2017, is implemented by the Voluntary Service for the Development of Haiti (VDH) in partnership with the AfricAmericA Foundation and the Italian NGO COOPI (Cooperazione Internazionale).

This Program aims to contribute, through culture, to the economic and social development of Haiti by strengthening the operational capacities of cultural organizations and cultural professionals through the creation of a fund to support the creation/production/dissemination, the training (academic and technical) and the development of international markets.

More specifically, for the first promotion, the FGOC, offered 450 hours of courses divided into 5 modules dealing with: cultural approaches, the Haitian context and professional practices, law, cultural project management and finnaly communication strategies. The courses were carried out by university professors and recognized professionals in the sector and were completed by a one-and-a-half-month cultural internship in cultural organization
