Haiti - FLASH : Salvadoran troops eliminate terrorists in Croix-des-Bouquets

Friday, November 6, 2026, the Salvadoran Vice-President, Félix Ulloa, confirmed the visit to El Salvador of the Haitian Prime Minister, Alix Didier Fils-Aimé on November 16 and 17 to participate in an international conference on the state of democracy : "The Prime Minister has already confirmed his presence; we will therefore have the opportunity to discuss the future of our troops deployed in Haiti."

Let's remember that the sending of Salvadoran troops to Haiti follows an ambush, which occurred on October 18, 2026, against a vehicle of the Gang Repression Force (FRG) in the Santo area, in Croix-des-Bouquets, on the outskirts of Port-au-Prince https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-48701-haiti-flash-the-4-salvadoran-soldiers-from-the-burned-out-armored-vehicle-are-missing.html . Four Salvadoran military aeronautics technicians were reported missing following this ambush.

El Salvador has deployed a contingent of 2,000 military personnel, including members of special forces, armored vehicles and combat helicopters. The President of El Salvador, Nayib Bukele, presented this operation as a mission aimed at finding the four missing soldiers alive.

The Salvadoran military intervention has sparked criticism : some have questioned its contribution to Peace, while others, like Médecins Sans Frontières, have warned of an "explosion of violence."

Ulloa affirmed that Salvadoran troops have "gradually cleared" the area of Croix-des-Bouquets, located about 10 km from Port-au-Prince, and stressed that the Haitian people and government "welcome this with satisfaction". "By sending these troops to rescue our compatriots, we had to intervene in areas where gangs operate, it is also there, in Croix-des-Bouquets, that they set up an ambush," he explained. However, no independent assessment of the number of terrorists killed since the start of the intervention by El Salvador's forces is available.

In this regard, he indicated that following the intervention of the Salvadoran military Wilson Joseph alias "Lanmò San Jou" Leader of the terrorist group 400 Mawozo which operates in Croix-des-Bouquets, sent a letter to the Secretary General of the UN to request a truce and the opening of mediation, proof that the terrorists realize that they are facing a force that is superior to them.

However, he clarified that El Salvador is not intended to replace the UN-supported Gang Supression Force (GSF), which is currently assisting the Haitian police in its efforts to restore security in the country. Furthermore, he stressed that "with a hundredth of what the United Nations invested in Haiti, we were able to deploy our contingent, with much more tangible results," however, he indicated that he did not have the figures relating to the cost of El Salvador's intervention in Haiti, while affirming that it is entirely covered by El Salvador.

Note that since the arrival of Salvadoran forces, the concern has been "palpable" among the terrorists. Since the start of the Salvadoran military intervention, violent clashes have taken place between Salvadoran soldiers and gangs in the area where the military technicians disappeared. The terrorists were put in difficulty, and lost many men. The terrorists note that the Salvadoran military is better equipped, better trained and that they have combat helicopters and a greater number of armored vehicles adapted to urban guerrilla warfare.

For Marie Yolène Gilles, founder of the Fondasyon Je Klere (FJKL), a human rights organization, this panic follows the initiative taken by the terrorist Wilson Joseph, alias Lanmo Sanjou, leader of the armed group 400 Mawozo, which controls the Croix-des-Bouquets sector, to send a letter to the UN to request the sending of a delegation responsible for facilitating dialogue and mediation in Haiti.
