Haiti - FLASH : Passing of «Black EZ», the music world is mourning

The Ministry of Culture and Communication is deeply dismayed by the news of the sudden death of the famous percussionist Vilaire Jean Dhanis aka "Black EZ" aged 37 (December 3, 1979)

Tuesday, victim of a vascular stroke, found unconscious at his home in Delmas 54 around 7:00 pm Black EZ was rushed to the University Hospital La Paix where he passed away.

Native of Jérémie, Black EZ was known for his extraordinary talent and sense of humor. He played as a drummer in the groups Legend, Mass Konpa and Krezi Mizik to finish his race in his own group Bèl Plezi he had formed with Berto.

It is with great emotion that the Ministry low bow at the premature departure of this son of the terroir, associates to this mourning which strikes his wife and two children, his close relations, the members of the group Bèl Plezi and expresses to them all its sympathy and solidarity.
