Haiti - Music : Launch of training workshops for the Plateau Jeunes Talent project

Ayiti Mizik, the Haitian association of music professionals and the Belgian association "Talia asbl" announce the launch of the second series of training workshops planned for the Plateau Jeunes Talents project.

Recall that the Plateau Jeunes Talents project aims to contribute to an exchange of skills in terms of professionalisation, training and creation in order to encourage the emergence of a new Haitian music scene.

The Belgian team consisting of Pierre Vaiana, Cédric van Caillie, Benoît Tempels and François Vaiana will soon meet the Haitian participants, selected from among the candidates recommended by the partner institutions of Ayiti Mizik. The workshops will be held from 7 to 14 December in the Salle du Villate in Petion-ville. A public restitution is planned for the closing of the workshops.

According to Pierre Vaiana, head of Talia asbl "Haiti is full of young talents in music. However, they often lack the tools to be real professionals. This workshop aims to offer participants intensive work under the supervision of four coaches: singing, stage presence, musicality and stage technique. For four of them, work will continue during summer internships in the Wallonia-Brussels Federation." Indeed, the artists and technicians winners of this second training session will leave for Belgium during the summer of 2017, for a creation and training residence, coordinated by Talia asbl.

The Plateau Jeunes Talents project is financed by Wallonie-Bruxelles International under the bilateral cooperation program between the Republic of Haiti and the Governments of Wallonia and the Wallonia-Brussels Federation.
