According to available information, in the departments of South, Nippes and Grand'Anse, at least 11 (33%) of the 33 hospitals would be damaged to varying degrees.

Furthermore, 34 (16%) of 212 acute diarrhea treatment centers (Cholera) in Haiti have been affected.

PAHO (Pan American Health Organization) is mobilizing resources for a vaccination campaign against cholera in Haiti in the affected areas, with support from the Bill Gates Foundation. A focus is made on the 52 health institutions already followed by the US Agency for International Development (USAID) for support them in medical inputs (antiretroviral therapy - ART) in a manner adapted to the needs and monitor patients.

An analysis of stock is conducted in 200 institutions in Haiti by USAID.

The organization points out that the places where helicopters of the US Department of Defense may land are limited in the most affected areas. Delivery by sea is an option for the coasts, but it will be very difficult to send care and food in remote areas affected inland.
