Haiti - Politic : Access to drinking water in Grande Saline

On Friday, President Michel Martelly, accompanied by Lionel Duvalsaint, Director of the National Directorate of Water Supply and Sanitation (DINEPA), inaugurated in Grande Saline, in the department of Artibonite, a water purification station, in order to allow this town of about 1,400 inhabitants, which was never supplied with drinking water, to access it.

The Head of State, who welcomed this great achievement, invited local authorities to accompany the people of Grande Saline, in order to allow the central government to better serve this commune.

While recalling the many projects being implemented in the department of Artibonite, including the construction of the hospital of Gonaïves, one of the largest hospitals in the country, the President Martelly reiterated its willingness to provide the town of Grande Saline, school, road, electricity infrastructure, etc...

The Head of State took the opportunity to thank the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) and the Spanish Agency for International Cooperation (AECID) for their valuable contribution to the development of community projects by the Haitian Government.

This 34th water point constructed by DINEPA, which works by reverse osmosis and makes drinking the river water runs on solar energy.
