Haiti - Security : Words of sympathy from the Ministry of Education

Friday early in the morning, in the town of Pemelle a van carrying schoolgirls was violently struck by a truck. The record amounts to 4 victims and six seriously injured.

In a release, the Ministry of Education is deeply saddened.

"The Ministry of National Education and Vocational Training (MENFP) learned with emotion and sadness the tragic accident occured in Fonds des Nègres,Friday, November 29, 2013 early in the morning, in the town of Pemelle where four students going to school were killed and six others seriously injured, all attended the lycée of Pemelle.

This incident reminds us all the mportance of being doubly careful and vigilant when driving on highways.

The Ministry presents its condolences to parents, school staff, students, and the entire community affected by this tragedy. The Departmental Directorate of Education of Nippes, was instructed for all the support to be provided to families of victims.

MENFP continues to assist closely relatives of hospitalized children so that they receive appropriate care. The Ministry welcomes all those who gave their support to the victims and their parents."
