In the latest ranking of the best infrastructure,

made by Latinvex, an online publication specializing in business in Latin America, Haiti is in the last position while Panama wins first place.

This classification, which covers 19 countries of the Region is the most extensive of its kind. It uses data from various governments, the World Bank, the World Economic Forum and the Central Intelligence Agency and takes into account 17 key factors to measure the quality of transport infrastructure of a country: quality of ports, air, rail and roads, the cost, time and documents required to export and import containers, customs efficiency and fluidity in border management, ease of organizing deliveries to competitive price, the competence and quality of logistics services, ability to track and trace shipments, the frequency with which shipments reach the recipients in the delivery and the percentage of paved roads and airport runways planned or expected.

The Dominican Republic occupies the third place for the best time in the region in the export of container, the 2nd rank in the import of containers and airport runways, the 3rdrank for the best quality of air transport and the 4th rank for the best port quality. Our neighbor is one of the six Latin American countries in terms of import and export of containers and also for the good quality of its roads.

Acoring to the Latinvex ranking, Haiti ranks as the country with the worst qualities in the field of ports, air transport and road infrastructure in the region. Haiti also won the prize in terms of steps to be taken or documents to sign for import containers, occupying the 3rd place among countries requires more documents to export container and comes in the second position of the countries that take more days to export or import containers. In logistics, it is the slowest country in the region in terms of monitoring, customs, capacity and ease of finding the price...

However, remain confident, the numerous infrastructure projects currently underway in Haiti and the modernization of our port facilities, airports, roads and infrastructure of our public administration, the reduction of procedures, at all levels, by the widespread use of computers and online services should enable Haiti to improve its position in the next rankings.
