Wednesday Prime Minister Laurent Lamothe received athletes of J/P HRO, who participated in the ING New York City Marathon 2013 Sunday, November 3. From the outset, the Head of Government commended the performance of our compatriots who have helped to strengthen Haiti's image internationally.

"The visibility provided by this event, which was attended by nearly 50,000 runners athletes from many countries, is a success that opens the door of a international career for the team of J/P HRO," declared Laurent Lamothe, who sees in the actions of J/P HRO, a model of partnership between government and NGOs in support of the Haitian people.

Our runners : Astrel Clovis, Jean Marcksony, Carline Lamour et Berline Lainé, thanked the Government for its support, which has enabled them to achieve great exploits in this international competition. Note that Pétrus Césarion, present in New York who did not run the marathon, due to a muscle injury, accompanied nevertheless his sports colleagues alongside the Prime Minister.

Recall that the participation of the Haitian team at this Marathon, was also part of a fundraising campaign "An ale pi lwen ak Ayiti", aimed at support the efforts of the Government and of J/P HRO in access to housing, education and other basic social services for the disadvantaged population. Nearly $300,000 have been collected and collection process continues after the event, explained officials of J/P HRO.

Results of the New York Marathon for Haitian runners :

Astrel Clovis, 43, (Cayes), bib 20633 crossed the line of 5km in 0:19:13, the 10km in 0:35:25, the halfway mark in 1:19:39, the 25th km in 1:35:27, the 40th km in 2:37:48 and crossed the finish line with a time of 2h 46mn 52 seconds.

Macksony Jean, 27, (Cayes), bib 20635 crossed the line of 5km in 0:19:14, the 10km in 0:37:26, the halfway mark in 1:19:41, the 25th km in 1:35:28, the 40th km in 2:42:04 and has crossed the finish line with a time of 2 hours 53 minutes 05 seconds.

Bertine Laine, 31, (Cayes),bib 20634 has crossed the line of 5 km in 0:23:42, the 10km in 0:46:07, the halfway mark in 1:36:19, the 25th km in 1:54:29, the 40th km in 3:05:00 and has crossed the finish line with a time of 3 hours 15 minutes 41 seconds.

Carline Lamour, 21, (Petit-Goâve), bib 20637 has crossed the line of 5 km in 0:23:44, the 10km in 0:46:22, the halfway mark in 1:36:16, the 25th km in 1:54:29, the 40th km in 3:05:02 and has crossed the finish line with a time of 3 hours 15 minutes 44 seconds.
