Haiti - Environment : Distribution of 500 kerosene stoves on the island of La Gonâve

The Ministry of Environment, in partnership with the Office of the First Lady and the Economic and Social Assistance Fund proceeded to the distribution of 500 kerosene stoves (400 singles and 100 double), on the island of La Gonâve.

250 stoves have been distributed in the municipality of Pointe à Raquettes and 250 in the Municipality of Anse à Galets. A small training session for beneficiaries of Anse à Galets was also performed [in Pointe à Raquette soon].

These stoves represent advantages in ecological and economic terms and are part of other kits (food kit, kit for fishermen) that the First Lady, Sophia Martelly distributed as part of her tour on the island of La Gonâve, expressing satisfaction "yo bon wi mwen gen youn lakay mwen".

Following this distribution, the next step will be to study with the FAES the possibility of integrating the distribution of these stoves in the national social program of the Government "Ede Pèp".
