Haiti - Culture : Maguy Durcé won the First Prize in the international fashion contest Afro Caribbean

Sunday, November 3, Myriam Jean-Louis Edragas, President of the Association Mode Afro Caribbean, announced the results of the 5th edition of the prestigious International Competition of the Afro Caribbean fashion, organized by the Association Afro K in Paris, the capital of fashion. The First Prize Afro K 2013 was awarded to the designer/modeler Maguy Durcé (Haiti), the 2nd Prize to Saint-Louis Augustin Frédérique (Martinique) and the 3rd Prize to Markos Krystel (Martinique).

Josette Darguste, acting Minister of Culture hailed the triumph of Maguy Durcé, founding member and Vice President of the Haitian Network of Designers (HAND), and also President of Haiti Fashion Week Committee, which face 301 designers from four continents, "made speak his art to burn in gold letters the name of Haiti in the pantheon of international fashion."

Maguy Durcé, will return home this Tuesday, November 5 at noon and will be welcomed at the diplomatic lounge of the Toussaint Louverture International Airport by a delegation from the Ministry of Culture and leaders of the Haitian Network of Designers (HAND).
