This week, Sandra Honore, the Special Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations, went to Les Cayes to meet with departmental administrative authorities and the police and to monitor ongoing projects funded by the United Nations Mission for stabilization in Haiti (Minustah).

In particular the rehabilitation of the dormitory of the In particular the rehabilitation of the dormitory Departmental Unit of Maintenance of Order (UDMO), the rehabilitation of the court and of wall of the large police station of Les Cayes and the construction of administrative office of penitentiary agents.

During her visit, Ms. Honore received numerous explanations on these projects from the Commissioner Fénelon Celot, Departmental Director of the National Police of Haiti (PNH).

Ms. Honore then went on the old basis of the Unit police which after the implementation of new infrastructure, will receive the Tourist and Hotel School of South, a regional vocational school in tourism.
