Thursday at the National Palace, President Michel Martelly, met face to face, Juan Esteban Lazo Hernandez, President of the National Assembly of the Republic of Cuba, on official two-day visit, to assess the Cuban cooperation in Haiti.

After this meeting, the representative of the Government of Cuba will have a working meeting with the Prime Minister, Laurent Lamothe around the strengthening of the cooperation between the two nations. Haitian and Cuban authorities will take this opportunity to review cooperation projects mainly in the areas of health and education.

Recall that the Cuban aid in the health sector is very significant and materializes especially in training health professionals, support for reform of the health system and ad hoc interventions of the Cuban medical brigade in the ten departments.
