Haiti - Diaspora : Forum on the integration in the political and economic process of Haiti

The organization Friends of Haiti 2010, invites the Haitian community to a forum on the Diaspora will be held in New York, Saturday, November 2, 2013, from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm at The Vault Café 481 Hempstead Tpke Elmont (NY), around the theme "The Haitian diaspora, its integration into the political and economic process. Objective limits and myths"

The organizers recalled that "Too often, Haitians living and working abroad, including those residing in the motherland, have preconceived ideas about topics related to the integration of the diaspora in the political process and economic development of the country. Myths related to misinterpretation on the legal and judicial plan are factors blocking the effective participation of this important portion of the Haitian population in the national life.

Faced with this paralyzing ambiguity, we call on legislators and experts on the issue of Diaspora to restore the facts and resetting the clock of the common homeland at the time of the full inclusion of all its human resources it has. The result of this forum coupled to a workshop will be made available to the general public."

Among the official guests of the Forum : Dieuseul Simon Desras, President of the National Assembly and Senator Steven Benoit. Among the other guests and panelists include, among others: the political scientist Harold Joseph Pierre (UNIBE Santo Domingo), Edwin Parison (former Minister of Diaspora), Dr. Garry Conille (former Prime Minister), Jean Henry Ceant (former candidate to the presidency), Me Peter Helder Bernard, Prof. Etienne Thélémaque, Garry Dorléan, Dr. Frantz Antoine Leconte and Frantz Jean-Baptiste, as well as members of the regional and socio-professional organizations in the diaspora.
