Following the launch of operations to verify the accuracy of the amount of fuel debited to the pump in gas stations of Port-au-Prince on Monday, April 29, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, after finding that some gas stations had broken seals placed on their fuel pumps following an inspection, which proved negative, remember to gas stations, in a notice signed by Wilson Laleau, acting Minister of Commerce dated August 30, 2013, their obligations.

NOTICE :

"The Ministry of Trade and Industry, after finding that some gas stations in the area of Mirebalais had broken seals placed on their fuel pumps following a compliance check which proved negative, reminded oil companies that, according to its circular dated April 11, 2013, the verification of conformity of fuel debited of gasoline distributors occurs periodically in all departments.

Following this inspection, a green sticker 'Accepted' is affixed on the pump in case of conformity of debit, or a red sticker 'Rejected' is affixed to the pump in case of non-compliance of debit.

In the spirit of a consensus that emerged from the meetings held for this purpose with the operators of the oil sector, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry reiterates its request for cooperation of all oil companies in general and gas stations, in particular, in the strict compliance with the regulations.

The Ministry also recalls that these controls have for objective to guarantee the economic interests of the population.

All offenders to the regulations will be punished in accordance with the Act."
