Haiti - Politic : President Martelly visited 2 political opposition leaders

Not having the power to convene the political parties, the President Michel Martelly, has taken the initiative to paid a surprise visit to 2 political opposition leaders : Serge Gilles of the Platform Fusion of Haitian Social Democrats and Evans Paul, of the "Konvasyon Inite Demokratik" (KID).

Michel Martelly and Evans Paul held discussions cordially for nearly two hours "It was an impromptu meeting [...] We discussed the situation in the country, the current crisis, the threat of instability in January, conditions life of the population..." indictaed Evans Paul, being careful not to give details to the press "we must not undermine the dialogue space that just opens [...] We have no agreement on the points that have been discussed, but we have an agreement to continue the dialogue."

Same reserve on the side of Fusion, which refuses to too specific comments on the meeting where it would have also question of the term of senators elected in 2009 and the organization of elections.

However on the side of Patriotic Movement of Democratic Opposition (MOPOD), which includes the RDNP, PLH, PROP, Ayisyen pou Ayiti, KID, Ansanm Nou Fo, INITE, Fusion and OPL, some rumors suggest that the President Martelly, would have asked the political leaders to support its decision to nullify the parliament in January 2014...
