Haiti - Education :  Loveda Movin and Samika Bruna Delhomme, won the Reading Championship

Friday at the Historical Park of the Sugarcane was held the final of the first edition of the National Reading Championship, organized by the Ministry of Education. 6 finalists (Top reader) attended the grand finale : for the 3th AF : Sara Berger, West (PSUGO), Loveda Movin, Nippes and Tehillah Mercius, Artibonite and for the 4th AF Samika Bruna Delhomme, Northwest ; Rose Nanda Baptiste, Artibonite and Wilna Andre, South.

The two big winners are :

Loveda Movin (3rd year fundamental), 7 years old, born in Miragoine in Nippes Department, a student at Notre Dame De Lourdes School

Samika Bruna Delhomme (4th year core), 6 years old, born in St. Louis du Nord in the Department of Northwest student of the school Clotilde Chalumeau.

The writer Frankétienne, sponsor of the Reading Championship was pleasantly surprised that the two finalists were all girls, saying "I think this reading championship will be a milestone in the educational annals, cultural and generally, in the school our country."

Recall that nearly 11,000 students participated in the first National Reading Championship, launched on July 2,from selected schools on a random basis: 100 schools spread throughout the country, with 10 schools per department. In addition to these 100 schools, 3 Integration centers for street children participated in the championship as well as 75 schools of treatment, 2 of project "out Timoun Ap Li" (TOTAL) which develop summer activities ; A total of 178 institutions participated in the Championship.
