Haiti - Security : Duly Brutus, Chair of the Committee on Hemispheric Security of the OEA

Wednesday, during a regular meeting, the Permanent Council of the Organization of American States (OAS) chose the Permanent Representative of Haiti, Duly Brutus, as the Chair of the Committee on Hemispheric Security (CSH).

Expressing his appreciation at being chosen for the position he will hold until June next year, Ambassador Brutus said that "with regard to the development of security we still have a long way to go. In the Haitian Mission we are learning about the various dimensions of the Security Committee and will contribute to the process by making the issue more dynamic, to allow the construction of a peaceful and stable future for the Americas." The Permanent Representative of Guatemala, José Rodrigo Vielmann, was chosen as Vice Chair of the Committee.
