Tuesday, Oriol Michel the Director General of the Office of Vehicle Insurance Against Third (OAVCT) announced that as of 1 September 2013, the OAVCT will be interconnected with the General Administration of Customs (AGD) the Directorate General of Taxes (DGI) and the Central Directorate of Traffic Police (DCPR) to allow holders of vehicle insurance policy, to renew it online. Payment will be by credit card and insurance will be delivered to the customer's home by a VIP service, said Michel Oriol.

This measure is added to the implementation of the renewal service 7/7 and to the creation of the mobile recording unit for motorcycles (border offices of Ouanaminthe and Malpasse) which deliver a temporary insurance for vehicles registered abroad to travel in the territory of the Republic of Haiti.

The Director General of OAVCT also insisted that the renewal of the insurance policy can not be achieved, if the owner of the vehicle concerned is in contravention with the police ans as long that it will not have rectified the situation with the police authorities.
