Haiti - Security : Laurent Lamothe conducted nocturnal visits in police station...

On Sunday, Prime Minister, Laurent Lamothe, who also chairs the Superior Council of National Police (CSPN), accompanied by, among others, Jean Renel Sanon, the Minister of Justice, Réginald Delva, the Secretary of State for Public Security, and Godson Aurélus, the Director General of the National Police of Haiti (PNH), conducted a surprise inspection visit in several police stations and sub-stations in the metropolitan area, in order to ascertain the effectiveness of the security strategy implemented by the Government.

Around 1:30 am, the Head of Government went at the police station (Omega) of Carrefour After having inspected earlier those of Petionville and Delmas. He also taken advantage of this tour to urge Police Commissioners responsible for the police stations to multiply the points of control through strategic areas and ensure an increased presence of police patrols in the streets.

"In order to reassure the population and to continue to strengthen the safety devices throughout the national territory, my Government is committed to relentlessly pursue his crusade against crime and maintain the climate of peace and serenity prevailing in the country. Under the Administration Martelly, crime will be fought with the utmost rigor and no political protection will be given to the bandits," declared the Prime Minister.

For his part, the Director General of the PNH expressed satisfaction of this initiative and requested the support of the government in several major projects, including the strengthening of the insurance plan, and the implementation of the housing program in favor of police officers.

The Prime Minister reiterated the commitment of his Government in favor of the professionalization of the police and promised to continue to work tirelessly to ensure a stable security environment in the country.
