Haiti - Environment : SOS Saut d'Eau, the Prime Minister appeals to all sectors

Tuesday during his visit to Saut d'Eau, the Prime Minister, Laurent Lamothe, accompanied among by, Jean François Thomas, Minister of the Environment, Senator Simon Dieuseul Desras [from the region], the Ambassador of Switzerland in Haiti, Ms. Edita Vokral and Ms. Lilian Duarte, the Representative of the Embassy of Brazil, appealed to all sectors of the national life, so that they unite to preserve the waterfalls of this town with cultural and tourist vocation.

The alarm cry of the Head of Government also aims to raise awareness about the state of accelerated environmental degradation, cause of depletion of many springs and rivers. This phenomenon that, unfortunately, has not spared the town of Saut d'Eau, spiritual place, brought the Prime Minister to mobilize assistance of the public authorities, civil society and partners of the international community to come to the rescue this heritage invaluable and cultural. "Nap pwofite okazyon sa a, pou n di ankò, Gouvènman ap makònen jefò l, ansanm ak jefò tout sosyete sivil la, patnè entènasyonal yo, moun nan kominote yo kap viv de resous natyrèl yo, pou ansanm, nou rive aplike tout mezi valab ki pou chanje lavi sitwayen yo, chanje lavi zòn nan, pou nou rive benefisye resous natirèl Sodo yo san tèt chaje," stressed the Head of Government.

The Prime Minister, together with the various partners involved in the project "Inisyativ pou sove chit dlo Sodo yo" promised to take all necessary steps to remedy this worrying situation which threatens not only the natural site of Saut d'Eau, but also the Haitian ecological environment as a whole.
