Haiti - Social : New Program «Leve Site Solèy»

Monday, the Prime Minister, Laurent Lamothe, accompanied by Charles Jean-Jacques, the Minister of Social Affairs and Labour and Marie Carmelle Rose-Anne Auguste, the Minister Delegate to the Prime Minister in charge of human rights and the fight against extreme poverty, paid a short visit to Cite Soleil, as part of the new program "Leve Site Solèy", which consists in renovate hundreds of homes in this difficult neighborhood.

The Head of Government took the opportunity to announce the forthcoming execution of several major projects in Cité Soleil, in order to create thousands of jobs for the citizens of this area.

Marie Carmelle Rose Anne Auguste, for her part, placed uner the sign of a proximity policy aimed at informing area residents of the various components of the national social assistance program "Ede Pèp" set up by the Government to help the poor. In addition, 3,000 mothers each received a "panye solidarite" and twenty of them have benefited through a raffle on site, of a fridge and a generator.

The Head of Government who has reiterated his commitment to work to enable the most vulnerable, to get out of extreme poverty, has promised to continue to fight tirelessly for the advent of a more just society in Haiti .
