Haiti - Politic : Denial of Me Louis Gary Lissade

In a statement, Me. Louis Gary Lissade, mourns the loss of investigative judge Jean Serge Joseph and categorically denies the statements of Samuel Madistin on a supposed meeting in his cabinet with President Martelly and Prime Minister Laurent Lamothe.

"I, the undersigned, Me Louis Gary Lissade, Lawyer at the Bar of Port au Prince, former Batonnier of the Bar Association having learned with dismay the death of Judge and investigative judge Jean Serge Joseph whom I deplore the loss, would like to make the following clarifications :

Contrary to the statements of Me Samuel Madistin on Télé Pluriel tending to make believe that the President of the Republic HE Mr. Michel Joseph Martelly and Prime Minister His Excellency Laurent Salvador Laurent have taken part in a meeting in my office recently, I declare that :

The President of the Republic and the Prime Minister have never participated in any meeting in my office with Judge Jean Serge Joseph or any other judicial authority. These allegations are not the expression of any truth but more of lying nature.

In my case as part of my professional activities, I never put any pressure of any kind on any magistrate or any other law professional during my thirty-five (35) years of career.

I wish to express my sincere condolences to the deceased's family and all his fellow judges.

Furthermore, I strongly deplore the political misuse that some are making of the death of honorable judge."
