On Monday evening, the Grenadiers for their first match (Group B) in the Gold Cup in 2013, will face for a 16th time in their history, Honduras at Red Bull Arena (New Jersey). The Cuban Antonio Israel Blake Cantero, national coach, will make its debut in Gold Cup 2013 and will reveal the names of 11, a few hours before kickoff.

Israel Blake said that his objective was to go to the second round and does not exclude a surpris against Honduras. The Cuban strategist acknowledges his respect for the Honduran team, but says that the Grenadiers will try to take 3 points, to calmly deal with the second match against Trinidad and Tobago, Friday, July 12 at the Sun Life Stadium (Miami Gardens / Florida)

"Our goal is to qualify for the next phase, we know that Honduras has a great advance, but we are prepared us for this match [...] under any angle it will be difficult [...] we hope to make a good tournament, we worked on discipline and tactical operation [...] we have to play with character and serious [...]"

Remember that Haiti and Honduras have faced on the lawn 15 times. Hondurans have 11 wins and 32 goals scored, Haiti, 4 wins and 12 goals scored. Their first game (friendly) dated August 15, 1957 in Curaçao and Haiti had won (2-1) and their last encounter dated July 4 2009 in Seattle, in the Gold Cup and Haiti had been beaten 1-0.
