Haiti - Social : Martelly in inspection visit at the Accommodation Centre and of Transit of Delmas 3

On Monday, the President Michel Martelly, conducted an inspection visit to the Accommodation Center and of Transit of Delmas 3, newly renovated as part of the project of construction of accommodation facilities, for children living in difficult situation in Port-au-Prince, Les Cayes, Cap Haitien and Jacmel.

This Accommodation Centre, which must soon accommodate 400 street children, including 50 temporarily for reintegration, includes dormitories with 24 beds each, a modern kitchen, toilet blocks, a dining hall, classrooms, a medical unit, playgrounds, 15 million gourdes were spent for the construction and purchase of equipment necessary for the proper functioning of the Centre.

The Head of State, satisfied with the work done, promised to support the Ministry of Social Affairs so that these children can receive adequate guidance to enable them to live in better conditions.

Charles Jean Jacques, Minister of Social Affairs, for his part, reiterated the commitment of the Ministry to strengthen its action to support families living in precarious situations.

In order to ensure the full and complete education of children, a vocational school will be built shortly.
