Haiti - Education : Dominican University UNICARIBE, granting scholarships to Haitian students

Last week, Dr. Fritz Cinéas, Ambassador of Haiti to Santo Domingo, thanked on behalf of the Haitian Government and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the University [private] of the Caribbean "Universidad del Caribe" (UNICARIBE) for the granting of scholarships to Haitian students with low economic resources, following the course of international relations in this Institution.

The Ambassador expressed his thanks, while he received at the Embassy of Haiti, Iván Gatón, the Director of career in International Relations in UNICARIBE, came to submit, on the instructions of Miguel Antonio Rodriguez Cabrera, Director of the School of Law and Political Sciences of the Academy of Higher Studies, the documents required for the award of these scholarships.

"[...] I will immediately transmit these documents to my Government and I'm sure it will be receive with great joy, because this will further contribute to the strengthening of relations between our two countries [...] it is greatly appreciated that UNICARIBE have thought about doing this gesture [...]" stressing that this contribution through the Rector José Andrés Sánchez Aybar will be a boon for Haitian students who will benefit from these grants to pay the costs of the University.

For his part, Iván Gatón indicated that the initiative of the Rector and the Director of the School of Law and Political Science, was in recognition of the quality of Haitian students that UNICARIBE had, emphasizing not only the quality of our students, but also their commitment and dedication.
