Friday, May 17, at the Ritz Kinam as part of the celebration of the National Teachers Day, held under the theme "The teacher, guarantor of a quality education", officials from the Ministry of Education paid tribute to fifty teachers coming of ten departments, to whom they handed a plate Honor and Merit for the noble work they do in education in Haiti.

In his speech, Vanneur Pierre, the Minister of Education, said it was time to stop and say honor and respect to all those women and men who support the country's future through the education of young "There no future without quality schools, not quality schools without good teachers."

The Minister assured that his Ministry "wants to treating the heart and the body of the trade through the training of teachers, through better management of their careers which can rely on a consistent plan, by constructing buildings according to the standards of the engineering education [...] We want to ensure the teaching staff of the Republic of Haiti that we are working in the direction of restoring the prestige of the teaching profession in the sense of the dignity of the teacher, of teacher of secondary, of university professor."

Also, that same day, Fritz Deshommes, Vice-Rector to the Research on the occasion of the ceremony of homage to teachers of the State University of Haiti (UEH) organized by the Executive Council of UEH delivered a highly appreciated speech.
