On Tuesday, the Ministry of Economy and Finance, has been signed by the Minister Wilson Laleau, Mr. Alix Célestin, the Director General of the National Port Authority (APN) and Francisco Senis, the representative of the American company beneficiary "GLF Construction Corporation", the contract for the construction of the North Wharf of Public facilities of the Port of Port-au-Prince.

This contract definitely launches the significant construction work of this essential port infrastructure for the economic development of Haiti. The realization of this project will also enable the APN to truly play its role as of lever for development and of institution having he difficult task of being one of the main gateways of the country.

The Directorate General of the APN is convinced that the construction of new infrastructure in the port sector and the improvement of existing ones across the country, will definitely allow Haiti to improve its position in the region. In this sense, the Directorate of the APN, is committed to take all appropriate measures to increase the efficiency of services provided by the Ports of the Republic of Haiti for the benefit of the community.
