Haiti - Social : Two demonstrations in Petit-Goâve

Yesterday, Wednesday, Petit-Goâve was the home of two demonstrations. On the one hand, the inhabitants of "Digue" took to the streets of Petit-Goâve to demand the cleaning and gabionade of the river "la Digue", which in the absence of these works, endangers the population, causing serious flooding in downtown Petit-Goâve.

On the other hand, the peasants of Trouchouchou, 3rd communal section of Petit-Goâve, who closed the office of Boards of Directors of communal sections (Conseils d’Administration des Sections Communales - CASEC), for abandonment of post. The protesters proclaimed Gisson Jean, as their representative and sole legal authority, of the locality "Matin de Trouchouchou". They ask the Ministry of the Interior, to endorse their choice "Gisson Jean is a progressive and dynamic man. Through his efforts, we received 12 km of roads," have declared Philogene Jean Charles and Clerobrun Etzer, two leaders of this protest movement.
