Tuesday, the President Michel Martelly went to l'Asile (Nippes Department), where he visited the progress of construction works of the Lycée Saint-Joseph. Welcomed with great enthusiasm, the Head of State took the opportunity to discuss with local authorities of the development of this municipality.

In the presence, among other, of Minister of Education, Mr. Vanneur Pierre, of the Minister responsible for the promotion of the peasantry, Marie Mimose Felix, of deputy of Anse-à-Veau, Mr. Wilner Kervil and of Departmental Delegate of Nippes, Alex Tropnaz, the President Martelly also recalled the progress made in the implementation of the free education program in the department. "I arrived at the head of the country with the belief that education is the guarantee of a better future for Haiti."

The Head of State also stressed the efforts made in the department of Nippes in term of infrastructure development. He particularly emphasized on the construction of several tens of kilometers of roads, the installation of streetlights in the most remote corners and the distribution of agricultural equipment and inputs to farmers "My presence here is a way to express my concerns with respect to the traditional problems you face for too long."

He also invited citizens to work together with local authorities, in order to better support their communities.

After overseeing the work, the President walked with the population in the city before returning to Petite-Rivière de Nippes and Miragoâne where awaited him other projects including the section Petite-Rivière / Miragoâne.
