Haiti - Politic : The President Martelly in Venezuela

On Friday, President Michel Martelly, accompanied among others by Philippe Cinéas, State Secretary at the Ministry of Public Works, Transport and Communication (MTPTC) and Ms. Andress Apollo, Director General of Electricity of Haiti, left Haiti, for Venezuela to participate Saturday, May 4, at the Summit of Heads of State of 17 Petrocaribe member countries [Antigua and Barbuda, Bahamas, Belize, Cuba, Dominica, Grenada, Guatemala, Guyana, Haiti, Honduras, Jamaica, Nicaragua, Dominican Republic, St. Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines and Suriname].

As a prelude to this important summit, the President Martelly will have a bilateral meeting with his Venezuelan counterpart Nicolas Maduro, to take stock of the progress of the Petrocaribe program.

The Prime Minister, Laurent Lamothe, Stéphanie Villedrouin, the Minister of Tourism, and Thomas Jacques, Minister of Agriculture, should reach the Haitian delegation this Saturday.

The Head of State will return to Haiti on Sunday.
