Haiti - Health : The «Liaison protestante des églises d'Haïti» contributes to the health of peasants

At the initiative of the "Liaison protestante des églises d'Haïti" and the Christian Center for Integrated Development, two institutions led by the Reverend Pastor Hérode Guillomettre, a group of American missionaries and Canadian physicians have provided health care for all one week to the inhabitants of the town of Allègue and other peasants from different communal sections of Petit-Goave. Every day, more than 250 patients of all age groups have consulted doctors and received free medicines.

"We work since 19 years with community leaders and Christian leaders of various churches in the country, in order to strengthen their capacity and actions they take to ensure that their communities are more dynamic and more able to meet the needs of people.

We would like that the community leaders better serve the population and the 'Liaison protestante des églises d'Haïti' works with more than 700 churches across the country and the Christian Centre present in 4 departments and collaborates with grassroots organizations, while providing all kinds of assistance in terms of training and equipment. Our philosophy is based on three areas: education, awareness and action. The action and the change will lead to development. A community transformed is an organized community with local institutions and responsible leaders," explained Pastor Guillomettre.
