Haiti - Reconstruction : Plaisance has finally a Town Hall after more than 200 years of waiting...

Since the creation of Plaisance in 1749, municipal officials in this rural town located 33 km from Cap-Haitien, going from house to house, rented on behalf of the Haitian state, lack of a real Town Hall. laisance has now, after more than two centuries... a real Town Hall. A building belonging to the Municipality has been renovated and extended by the Quick-impact program (QIP) of the Minustah, at a cost of 100,000 U.S. dollars.

Work, which will change the life of Antoine Josaphat, Executive Agent of the municipality that recalls "When we needed to type a document for the Town Hall, the whole town was already aware." With a fully equipped Town Halland better working conditions, he hopes to "improve the quality of services" to the 63.278 inhabitants of the municipality.

"This work is a source of pride for us. We had not expected such a construction," declared Marcellin Antoine (86), former Director of the National School of Plaisance "This building will improve the working environment of the employees of the municipality. "
