Monday, Wilson Laleau, Minister of Commerce and Industry, has proceeded during a ceremony at the headquarters of the National Society of Industrial Parks (SONAPI), at Metropolitan Industrial Park, to the installation of the new Director General of the SONAPI, Mr. Bernard Schettini, who replaces Mr. Georges Barreau Sassine to this position.

"The task of the new Director General of the SONAPI, is huge to the extent that, for the past 40 years, this is the first time that a government is committed body and soul to create jobs in the country," declared in his speech, the Minister Laleau, recalling that SONAPI, is an institution that should be in the regulation, promotion and development of industrial parks across the country.

"The SONAPI has, indeed, the mission of contributing significantly to the continuous creation of jobs and wealth, at the same time responding to two of the four priorities that has set the President of the Republic," declared Bernard Schettini stating that "the institution will have to, among others, to ensure a gradual increase in its physical capacity, through the establishment of new parks and the expanding of existing ones."

Bernard Schettini, is a trained architect, and worked to the Texaco Haïti Inc., where he served, in turn, the functions of Assistant Director of Operations, Superintendent of the oil terminal of Carrefour, Coordinator of the health safety and environment, and finally Director of Operations for the Caribbean.
