Haiti - Social : Tribute to the memory of Toussaint Louverture

Lesly Condé, Consul General of the Republic of Haiti in Chicago, reminds the Community as a whole that, Sunday, April 7, 2013, brings the 210th anniversary of the death of Toussaint Louverture. "It's time to pay tribute to the man, who in the eighteenth century, challenged the world order, his lucidity and courage, showed our ancestors the path of freedom. Toussaint Louverture deserves the admiration of the world. But it is above to all us, to honor his memory and prove ourselves worthy of his legacy, by practicing like him, the love of the fatherland and solidarity.

At a time when our nation is engaged in a new beginning where hope replaces fatalism, we must, like Toussaint Louverture, be guided by the wisdom, patience and determination.

It is in this line of thought that the Consular Mission of Chicago, will ontervene Sunday, April 7 at 7:00 pm on the air of Radio Haiti International Chicago (1590 AM or www.1590haiti.com) to discuss a topic titled 'Toussaint Louverture, the precursor of the principle of universality of rights.'"
