Haiti - Politic : The President of the Senate fears a social explosion...

Tuesday, Ralph Théano, the Minister in charge of relations between the Executive and Parliament had declared on a local radio "We must take stock of some things. I understand that everyone is in a hurry, but 'twò prese pa fè jou louvri'," recalling among other that "[...] No one has seen the resignation letter of three representatives of the CSPJ (Supreme Council of the Judiciary) to the CEP (Permanent Electoral Council), [...] This problem must be resolved because you know that you can not revoke of Electoral Judges. Although this problem is on the way to being resolved, it must be resolved definitely so that we can move forward [...] We need to take our time to do well, n order to have good elections... those seeking election in a hurry will be the first to criticize..."

It seems that the call for patience of the Minister Théano, has not calmed the concerns of Senator Simon Dieuseul Desras, President of the Upper House, which sees in these successive delays an increasing in the risk of social explosion. The Executive is slow to disclose the names of its 3 representatives, consequently, according to him, is the cause of the delay in the installation of members of the College Transitional of Permanent Electoral Council (CTCEP). responsible for organizing the next elections.

Recalling that these elections are essential to normalize the political life and renew the political staff, he urged the government to accelerate the process of establishment of CTCEP, which would be the proof of its willingness to achieve the next elections this year. Moreover, he warns the Executive against all actions, aimed at nullify the Senate already weakened by the absence of a third of its senators.
