Haiti - Social : Tabling soon, of a bill on women's wages at home

The Deputy Jules Lyonel Anelus, President of the Human Right Commission of the Lower House announced Friday, as part of the International Day of Women, that the Lower House intended to table shortly a draft bill regulating the work of the housewife (women at home) which often do not respond to their needs essential. On the other hand, the Deputy Anelus said he expected the publication in the Official Journal "Le Moniteur" of the Responsible Fatherhood Act, passed by both Houses.

"[...] We agreed together at the Commission [...] so that we improve the conditions of women in society. There is a category of women which is almost always marginalized [...] that women who are at home, today we are seeing all, these women have a charge, it is a job they do, but that is never paid.

At the Commission [...] we will make a bill that will allow to give a accompanying to women who are at home, and who are working without wages, as I have said. So the Commission has agreed that we should give these women an accompaniment in this sense [...]"

On the other hand, the Deputy Anelus hope the publication of the law on responsible fatherhood. Remember that this law ratified by the lower house in May 2010 and by the Senate on April 12, 2012 has not been published in the official newspaper "Le Moniteur" and therefore this important law is not applicable .

"[...] We agreed after the last meeting that we had at the Chamber of Deputies with the Government, which is committed to publish this Act, according to the guarantee that the Prime Minister gave us [...] Starting from the publication of this law, women will finally have a recourse in the sense of responsible fatherhood [...]"
