Thursday, the Commercial Directorate of the Electricity of Haiti (EDH), brought together the heads of agencies of the metropolitan area at a workshop aimed at evaluate, correcting and accelerate its Commercial Plan 2012-2013, to better serve its customers and meet its income objectives.

Recall that the Commercial Directorate, is expected to generate 9.1 billion Gourdes [1 USD = ± 43 Gourdes] income, by increasing, on the one hand the billing rate of 33% to 54%, and secondly the recovery rate from 65% to 95%.

If the first quarter of the financial year had started well after reaching a peak of 48% of billing, unfortunately, several factors have caused a significant decline in income in the following quarter : problem with the new billing system ; meter misread ; not read or broken ; erroneous invoices, undelivered, or unpaid with huge arrears.

The EDH aware of the problems committed during this workshop to rectify this situation and discussed with the commercial agents of issues relating to :

• Meter reading ;

• Billing and collection of receivables ;

• The fight against internal and external fraud ;

• The implementation of the new standards of connection ;

• The strengthening of Management Units and of Control.

According to the Commercial Directorate of the company, the performance was evaluated, the problems corrected and customers should soon see an improvement.
